I know the boy has some insurance through his workplace but I don’t know if it could be considered whole life insurance. The policy he has seems quite minimal and I have wondered if we should check into a different one. I really have no idea what the options are as far as this stuff goes, but it is something I think about now and then. Obviously, it’s not something I like to think about at all, but it might not be the worst idea just to see what options are out there so that the other can be protected if the unspeakable were ever to happen.

Even though there are so very many options these days for kitchen sinks I don’t think we will be replacing ours anytime soon. It is not that I wouldn’t like to have something funky and new, it’s more that I can not justify such a cost at this time. We plan on doing some ‘prettying up’ around here this year without diving head first into any extreme renovations. We will be painting and the like, but I think we will leave the sink just as it is.

I guess I put too many expectations on our Christmas holidays as they fell miserably flat. The first part of our time off was good, the Christmas part. The week off at the end of the month, was not so swell. I got infected with a cold Tuesday, which just got worse and it hit the boy by Thursday, rendering us pretty much useless and not able or wanting to do any of the things we had hoped to do during the time off. It was so frustrating, didn’t even celebrate New Years as neither of us was even able to stay up until midnight. Now, the holidays are over and I’m depressed that the very rare time off that we had time to ourselves, was ruled by damn colds. It does not put me in great spirits for the New Year.

Well, one gift I did not receive for Christmas was a treadmill but with all the eating and sitting around that occurred I’m thinking maybe I should have asked for one. I tell myself that’s what the holidays are for, visiting, eating, presents and lazing around. I most certainly fulfilled all those ‘holiday criteria’ this year. Maybe if I had done more moving around and less eating I would not have come back home with a most unpleasant scratchy throat and cough. I sure hope this does not last long because I am so not enjoying it right now at all.

I left some heat set low on the lower level, but the upper level is not at all pleasant. And it is taking a long time to warm up. Maybe I should vacate before I turn into an icicle.
