Browsing around Yahoo! this morning for odd news, I found this article which I thought was kinda funny/interesting.  Not sure what inspired me to look for odd news, as I don’t normally do that, just looking for something different today I guess. 

According to this 107 year old Hong Kong villager the secret to a long life is….NO SEX!!!  Who knew?  He apparently has been abstaining from the deed for 80 years!!  I can’t say I’m sold on the fact that no sex equals living to 107, but thought that was an interesting take on longevity that I haven’t heard yet.  The boy says he wants to live to be 100, think he’ll buy this excuse the next time he wants it and I don’t?  LOL

Here we are again, the start of the week, the beloved Monday has blessed us with its appearance yet again.  So, watch the Oscars last night?  Any bets on how long it will be before Al Gore officially announces he’s running for the pres?  As far as awards shows goes, the Oscars were ok, Ellen at least injects some humour into it and those people forming those shapes behind the white wall were pretty cool.  They kept calling it a night of surprises as I guess those who were perhaps ‘long shots’ were the ones actually winning the awards.  I’ve always been a fan of the underdog, so I thought it was pretty cool when Jennifer Hudson won for best supporting actress and Forest Whitaker for best actor.  I haven’t seen either of their movies, but was still happy that they were recognized.  Who knew that an American Idol ‘loser’ could surpass all the ‘winners’ and win a flipping Oscar?  Certainly not Simon Cowell!!  Speaking of American Idol, was everyone else (who might admit to watching the show) completely disappointed with the guys’ performances?  I thought that was pretty sad, these were the ‘Top 12 Guys’, give me a break!!  They couldn’t have been anymore emotionless if their bodies were taken over by zombies for gosh sakes!!  The girls brought it though, well, most of them, some made some VERY bad song choices, but they far surpassed any of the guys’ performances.  Will be interesting to see if the guys shape up this week…if not, my vote is send all the guys home and keep all the girls, this is a singing competition after all, and what those guys did, didn’t constitute as singing in my book.

Well, here it is, the end of the week..woo hoo!!  I find myself lacking much interesting to blog about today so I found this and thought it was cute and I’d put it in the blog, because, well, it’s Friday and no one likes to think too much on a Friday.  So just look at the pic, read the few lines and perhaps have a bit of a laugh.  This made me have a little chuckle as it reminded what I thought of ‘the deed’ and what it entailed when I was a wee little one, lol!!  Happy Friday all!!
