Weekend Adventures

So last weekend I thought I may have to get in contact with a truck accident lawyer due to the ‘risk’ we took in venturing into unknown land. In our search for somewhere to spend the day, we headed up a secluded, but not ‘un-used’ forest service road to find a lake to spend some time at and do some fishing in. We drove right on by the perfectly fine spot we had been at a couple weeks ago as we were told that were many lakes to choose from up this particular road. What we weren’t told about is how the road just gets progressively worse the further on up you travel. I winced and grimaced over every bump and cringed as we met a corner, hoping there wasn’t someone coming on the other side. Needless to say it was NOT an enjoyable day and we did not in fact find a better lake at which to fish, we did indeed end up at the very lake we had bypassed hours before, only to barely get a weiner roasted and have the rain start to fall…and not stop. So, we ended up packing it in, grabbing a movie and pizza and spending the rest of the night on the couch as opposed to relaxing by the water..sigh..and to think we are crazy enough to try again tomorrow.

George Carlin Dies

I can’t say it was a very Happy Birthday for me to wake up and hear that George Carlin had died.  I feel old when I say, all the good ones are gone…but it feels so true.  Rest in peace George.

Wandering

On a day like today I wish I had a travel guide to assist me in my ventures. Funny thing is, I’m not venturing anywhere exotic or far away, no, I wish I had a travel guide for my local area so that I knew where all the lakes were located. You would think the information I’m seeking wouldn’t be too hard to find, I thought I’d be able to find it online, but am quickly finding out that just is not so. It is getting quite frustrating to put it mildly, I merely want a map/information on how to get to the hundreds of lakes in this area and what I might find once I get there, but I have yet to find a definitive source online for this kind of information. I will have to expand my search and see what I can find in a bookstore or something like that I suppose if I really want to know just how much there is out there just waiting for me to explore.

Cable’s nest

I’m sure I’m not alone when I say if I have to add one more HDMI cable to the mass of wiring behind my computer or TV I may have a coronary. It is unbelievable how many wires there are running here, there and everywhere behind these ‘machines’. There has to be a cable for every operation (or so it seems) that the ‘machine’ may possibly do. If birds nested in cables, I’d have an entire colony take up residence at my house.  I have cause to wonder, in this technological age, can they not invent a system whereby you need one cable, that’s it, just one nice pretty little cable that will do everything. Does this exist already and I’m not aware of it? What’s that you say? I’m dreaming, ya, well, no harm in wishing is there?
