Not for me

Living where I do and the line of work that the boy and I are in, we find we have no need for industrial supplies. Now, I know that if we had the room, the boy would love to have the need for such a thing, but since we are bursting at our storage seams, we just cannot be buying anything that isn’t a necessity, unfortunately. We both know it is time for a reorganization and purge, but it’s not something either of enjoys doing. I dissuaded him from attacking our storage closet yesterday because I knew it would end badly with the promise that I would work on getting some things better organized around here this week. I better hold up my end of the bargain or I might find some of my ‘prized possessions’ falling by the wayside.

One pair

I’ve only ever owned one pair of Naot shoes, which I have had for years. I bought the sandals several years ago when I worked a job that had me on my feet for 5 – 8 hours at a time and since it was summer I wanted a pair of sandals that could handle such a task. I was very happy with how these sandals performed and in fact still have them as they held up very well to all the ‘footly’ demands. I have been tempted to buy other footwear of this brand, but so far I have refrained as I think if I brought one more pair of shoes into this house it may be cause for a divorce.

Irresponsible pet owners

Unfortunately, there are too many people in this world who own pets and don’t deserve that right. Even more unfortunate is that two of those people live one place away from me so I get to hear their two dogs bark at one another from opposite sides of the fence on an almost daily basis. It can get so annoying, especially when I know they are barking out of sheer boredom because their owners never do anything with them or get them out of their own backyards. They are both little dogs, which I know can be yappy to start with, but I’m not blaming it on their size. I think the onus lies squarely on their respective owners for not taking the time to get the poor dog out for a walk and get to see some different scenery. How can I say all this? Well, I think a good measure is the fact that they are currently yapping their little heads off and my dog, who is also outside, has not let out so much as a huff. If there was something to bark at, she would let me know.

Peace of mind

I’ve always been a little bothered by the concept of insurance in that I’m paying for something I might never use. That’s just me though, if I have to spend money for or on something I like to see some sort of tangible/measurable result from it. Insurance is not one of those things. That said, if I reconcile myself with it, I cannot put a price on the peace of mind having home insurance brings. Obviously, it is something I hope I never have to actually ‘use’, but it provides me with one less thing to worry about knowing that if I ever need it, I am covered.
